The Churchyard hay meadow has been cut. The hay is currently being turned everyday and will be bailed later this week ready for distribution.
The Churchyard hay meadow has been cut. The hay is currently being turned everyday and will be bailed later this week ready for distribution.
The churchyard hay has been cut, turned and is now ready for bailing, when it stops raining! Rather than being collected as loose hay, this year a mini bailer is to be used. There have been many different species of butterflies and other insects using the hay meadow this year.

Due to the recent continual rain and heavy showers, the churchyard hay has been spoiled this year. It has been taken away to South Farm to rot down. The pictured volunteers disposed of it on Sunday afternoon. Hopefully we will have a better summer and consequently a usable hay crop Read more…
Sunday 2nd August saw the Hay Harvest completed in a very good time by 20+ volunteers. The hay was well dried, which made it much easier to collect. The hay was sent to Butser Ancient Farm, who were very pleased with the quality. They plan to make one or two Read more…
